This article details and explains many reasons for the generally observed lack of the interest for writing amongst the medical and dental community of developing countries including Pakistan. Various guidelines and methods facilitating effective writings are thus presented to readers, and prospective medical and dental writers and researchers. The aim is that in their respective fields, many will be hopefully motivated to writing. It will also help enhance their writing skills. All this is meant to encourage professional and scientific publications across the various disciplines of medicine and dentistry. This is a review article.
