Metatropic dysplasia is a rare spondyloepiphyseal dyslasia characterized in infancy by long trunk and short extremities. X-ray manifestations include severe platyspondyly, severe metaphyseal enlargement, shortening of long bones and a specific pelvic shape. Inheritance is recessive or dominant. Gene mapping and linkage is not known
