A comparative study of management of Zygomatic bone fracture with Traction Hook versus Gillies approach

Malar Traction Hook technique and Gillies Temporal approach were objectively compared to ascertain the effectiveness and postoperative complications of two procedures. 50 patients were randomly assigned to either of two techniques irrespective of age and sex. Patients were evaluated clinically and radio graphically preoperatively and postoperatively up to 3 months. Any complication observed during postoperative period was noted. Percutaneous Malar traction hook technique was found better than Gillies temporal approach in respect of operative time, post operative pain, wound healing, duration of hospital stay and post operative paresthesia cure rate.
