Management protocol of Post-traumatic CSF Rhinnorhea: A study of 24 cases

Cerebrospinal fluid Rhinorrhea is a common complication of certain types of head injury. It can be treated with conservative measures or surgically. The author reports a total of 24 cases of posttraumatic CSF Rhinorrhea, managed during the last 3 years. Nineteen were male and 5 females. Majority of the patients were between 11 to 20 years of age. Leakage started immediately in most of the cases. Diagnosis of site of leakage is done with CT or MR scan. Our conclusion is that the majority of the cases has been successfully treated with conservative measures.
