Prevention Of Sepsis in Clean Gynaecological Surgery: Role of Pre-Operative Chemoprophylaxis

Short course prospective antibotics administration is an important adjunctive means for reducing infectious morbidity for many women requiring clean gynaecological surgery. Factors leading to postoperative gynaecological infections remain incompletely understood. Selection of a appropriate antibiotic for chemoprophylaxis is generally empirical. This study was carried out to find out the benefit of short course of perioperative chemoprophylaxis over conventional antibiotic therapy in clean gynaecological surgery. So a study was designed to find out the benefits of short course chemoprophylaxis in clean gyaecological surgery over conventional duration antibiotic therapy.
