Clinical Presentation of Coeliac Disease in a Local Population

In this retrospective analysis, a study of presenting complaints of 41 patients diagnosed to have villous atrophy on histopathology of dudenal biopsy was carried out. 21 patients presented with diarrhoea, growth retardation and anemia. There were isolated presentations of anemia, delayed puberty, growth retardation, malabsorption with diarrhoea. An increased awareness is needed to diagnose coeliac disease when patients present with these complaints over a prolonged period.
