Fungal Endocarditis

Fungal infective endocarditis is rare but serious disease, reported mainly in I.V. drug abusers, those undergo open heart surgery, immunodeficient states and prosthetic valve endocarditis. A case of successfully treated fungal native tricuspid valve endocarditis with repeated pulmonary embolism is being reported, with highly suggestive clinical presentation. Diagnosis was confirmed bygrowth of `Aspergillus Fumigatus` on fungal culture and TTE and TEE. Anti fungal therapy and surgery was main stay of treatment.
