Aga Khan University Hospital, Karachi
Follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) presenting with a solitary metastasis to the skull is very rare event. We report a patient with no history of thyroid cancer, who presented to us with a solitary skull bulge. Neuroimaging showed osteolytic lesion involving the cranium. Cranioplasty was done in each case after adequate excision of the lesion. The histopathological examination revealed well differentiated FTC metastasis. Subsequently complete thyroidectomy was performed after identification of the occult primary in thyroid gland.
