Leukemias are a heterogeneous group of diseases. Myeloid leukemias are characterized by infiltration of the blood, bone marrow & other tissues by neoplastic cells of the hematopoietic system whereas lymphoid malignancies arise from cells of immune system at different stages of differentiation leading to a variety of morphologic, immunologic &clinical findings. This is a review article.
