Intra-operative upper gastrointestinal bleeding

Thromboembolic events are known complications in neurosurgical patients. Hypercoagulable state may develop perioperatively. Hypotension was observed at the end of surgical procedure, which was not responding to replacement therapy. When patient was placed in supine position, abdominal distension was noted. A nasogastric tube was passed and bleeding from stomach was observed on aspiration.
