Regarding the Dissertation, there are always loads of queries and one can't really find much guidence.

In general, there is no limit as to the minimum or the maximum number of references. Mostly people say that there should not be less than 40 references in a dissertation.According to my own experience between 40 and 120 refrences is an acceptable range.

It is preferred to use the references from last five years but if you are dealing with a topic on which no work has been done in the recent years, you can use older refences.

As far as Pakistani references are concerned, again, there is no limit and if no work has been done in Pakistan on the particular topic, then you can use Non-Pakistani refences. The College would not object on this, unless there are available references.

The references from the books are not usually preferred but you can use few references.

You can try sending an email to RTMC, but most of the times, they don't even bother to reply!

how many references are allowed in a dissertation and can anyone tell me the maximum no and minimum no required. can someone tell me how many are to be pakistani references and how many books and how many should be recent
