Re: vancouver style for dissertation
Refernce to a dissertation in Pakistan can be made as easily as outside Pakistan. If you are writing an FCPS dissertation, you should follow whatever style CPSP recommends (if they recommend one). If not, then Vancouver style is certainly one good choice. You can also refer to the following journal article: Uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals. International committee of medical journal editors. Annals of internal medicine. 1997 Jan 1;126(1):36-47.
This was published simultaneously in several journals. If you would like a copy and can't download it, send me an e-mail, I will be happy to send it to you as attachment.
I am pasting a sample dissertation citation in Vancouver style below:
Kaplan SJ. Post-hospital home health care: the elderly’s access and utilization [dissertation]. St. Louis (MO): Washington Univ.; 1995.
Hope this helps!!

Re: vancouver style for dissertation
If you have problems in writing references, you can use following ways:
1. Install a software EndNote or Reference Manager. It manages references automatically.
2. Visit http://www.lib.monash.edu.au/tutorials/citing/vancouver.html and learn how to use vancouver style references.
