Re: Strikes, Strikes , Strikes----- What Next

First of all, I don’t think any doctor will ever be satisfied. We need to think about the patients these strikes will not do well for anyone, especially not patients. The health sector is in crisis and I think doctors are being paid well enough. What I should say is the cost of being a medical doctor is too high and that is what the government should focus on. Why is the cost for medical students so high? If the fees is so high it means that hospitals are earning quite a lot.

Re: Strikes, Strikes , Strikes----- What Next??

Dear Dr. Rathore,
The incident is regretful. After reading the two news links given by you, all I can see is gross disarray. The problem is at all levels. Certain questions need answers. Did the nurses give their demands to concerned authority through proper channel? If yes, then it seems that the concerned authority did not pay much attention to solve the issue of these demands which led to the aggressive protest by nurses. Was that the right choice by nurses to block the main gate, road and emergency services to get their demands fulfilled? Why did ED try to run over protesting nurses? Did she really do it? Why did the concerned representative of government not sort the issue in time before the protest went to parliament's vicinity? Sanity is needed at all levels. I pray that this issue is solved amicably and its retrospective analysis should be done to prevent similar incidents in future.
Regards,
Dr Omar Rathore

well dr Rathore,
Our beloved country Pakistan, as a whole is pasing through a great termoil and is under a lot of internal and external threats, the effect/influence of which can be seen in every walk of life.We the doctors do come 4m the same community and dont have any exception. majority of the doctors come 4m middle class community, mostly still working on honourary basis despite havin beed decorated with the so called *cream of the nation* medals, more over issue of supporting their families, maintaining the Doctors status, so unreasonable wages, non human seniors attitudes, victims of CPSP Mafia, their workshops..... and a lot more in the form of insecurity, bombs, political infancy.... whenever this burning situation gets a little oil in the form of some unwanted incidence either its from a patients relative, media monkeys or any one else of suc IQ... we cant expect a response better or worse than this. so be patient and pray for the good days to come, the job whole of the Pakistan is doing since ite creation.

Re: Strikes, Strikes , Strikes----- What Next??

dear dr Rathore,
i am not well informed about the exact nature of events that took place, which you have referred to,but i can say this much, ours is a feudal system and it has a great amount of influence on how we think as a nation and the rest is the political system that tries to use every event for its very own purposes.we need to do a lot before we can expect any change for the better.
