Re: Re: Re: LACK OF RESIDENCY POSTS

Yes you have rightly mentioned. hospitals like DHQs where trained specialists are available can be recognized for say 1-2 years training.DHQ Gujranwala is a good example which can become a teaching hospital

Re: Re: LACK OF RESIDENCY POSTS

Curiously, number of residency seats in a US teaching hospital is not more than a comparable hospital in Pakistan. However, here they have a lot of residency positions in community programs and university affiliated community programs. Of course, even the major "community hospitals" in Pakistan may need lot of investment to be ready for training physicians. However, given the fact that teaching hospitals are already bursting at the seams, the possibility of adding more hospitals to the training system should be considered by FPSC.

Re: LACK OF RESIDENCY POSTS

This is true especially in case of Medicine. The situation is not so grave for some of the specialities like ENT,OPHTHALMOLOGY etc. where u can easily find a supervisor.CPSP should consider increasing the no of trainees a supervisor can supervise in the best of interest of successful part-1 candidates.
