Re: Re: Pharmacist in rounds and ward meetings

"doctor knows every thing" is rather "doctor is expected to know every thing" in Pakistan. Pharmacists should be part of every medical team

Re: Pharmacist in rounds and ward meetings

This is quite common praice in UK atlast in Psychitry. On many occassions they helped us out with drug interactions, substitutes of the drugs when the side effects limmited the use of one drug etc. But this was possible only when every member of the team held important value and was considered important. I am no sure that with the biological driven model in Pakistan where 'Doctor knows every thing' how is that going to work!!

Pharmacist in rounds and ward meetings

Now a days pharmacy students come to hospital to see the patients; record the histories and treatment chart; participate in rounds ...... they say that this is in new courses of Pharm-d. Is there any need of their participation in rounds. What would be their possible role. What is future of such pharmacists and such activities in pakistan.what is international practice.
