yes mr ijaz is right, we shud ashamed of our training not our degrees. we shud ashamed of our so called trainers (our funny heritage) which CPSP still holding on. We shud ashamed of our stupid education/syllabus system which is unable to take out us from the shamefulness outside our country.
No doubt we have best brains (yougsters) but this old institution run by same old atrophic brains who can think of theirselves only. So the need is to unite against these old ridiculous governing bodies and make our own new institution with modern ways.

Dear Ijaz,
Why after more than forty years, and only college offering 'stupid' specialities like physiology, pharmacology, forensics etc and a lot of visits by royals of cpsp to SISTER college along with building a huge infrastructure which has name inscribed on every block, and 'bulliton' which should rightly be called 'Sullitan' has not earned credibility.
Because this is rest place of so called and self acclaimed educators and trainers after retirement, and they dont want to do anything.

I would like to make few points here:
1. The diploma of any country is of no value its the residensy training that matters. Our problem is residency training the time you appear for FCPS you are already trained and FCPS cannot overnight change you. We need to improve our standard of training get new faces with subspecialised training , make research and academics an integral part of every programme and teach residents on one to one basis. The thing CPSP needs to do very strict monitoring of the training standards in various institutions by doing surveys and direct feed back from residents , which should be kept confidential from the professors.
2. Secondly I donot believe that FRCS (in general )gives you any credibility infact infact i believe that if untill u do a speciality FRCS (intercollegiate FRCS like surg neurology, orthopaedics , urology etc). Its a Joke , FRCS doesnot mean any training and I have seen people who trained for many years in UK did their FRCS in Gen and came back to pakistan and did their first appendisectomy ever here.
3. The best standards of training are maintained by North american universities where residents work their heart out , get grilled in conferences and meeting to improve knowledge,very meticulous exams are taken, and the amount of surgery they do is unimaginable.This makes a supercompetent surgeon, which is much beyond that paper Diploma FRCS. Just look at the difference between a bristish trained and an american/canadian trained surgeon and you will know what i am saying.
4. Lastly to give any credibility to the fact that you are paid any different salary because of FRCS is not because of FRCS but because of those idiots who think of such thing and you can very well see how those ppl are looked upon as by the world.

Dear members, I think FCPS is worst diploma I ever had.It is OK on papers but the way it is forced upon doctors is shameful.It is most stupid act that if one does know PC and internet he can't appear in Part II. College president and council are running college the way Musharraf running Country.Diploma is costly, trainer dont know how to train and who to train and training is pethetic. NO WHERE ON EARTH IS DIPLOMA IN PHYSIOLOGY, ANATOMY ETC BUT CPSP IS THE ONLY INSTITUTION ON EARTH THAT OFFERS. THERE IS NO VALUE OF THIS DIPLOMA AT ANY PLACE ON EARTH. I WAS OFFERED 4900 RIYALS AFTER FCPS BUT 13000 AFTER FRCS( I APPEARED FOR JOB INTERVIEW THREE WEEKS APART BUT DIFFERENCE WAS FRCS). So my fellow doctors get some western degree if possible, that will bring prosperity to you both socially and mentally. KEEP FCPS AS LAST resort before death.

I totally agree with u here. But there is no respect of FCPS outside even now a days in Pakistan.. ithink all know very well. I am also one of the sufferers of CPSP. I personally met Prof Sultan Farooqui recently but the way he behaved with me u ppl can't imagine. I am surprised that a senior educated ,moreover president of our so big noble insttution can behave like that .........its' weird!! I am desperated about the future of Medical post graduation in Pakistan. I am serving outside the country. The people outside think of Pakistani education in that manner that we should ashamed of ourselves. Recently I have cleared my DipDerm exam from UK but Mr Farooqui 's attitude was horrible really. I feel that he doesn't know how to behave in a respectable manner.
