Re: role of stem cells in CCF

I think you would be aware of trail going on in AFIC,Rawalpindi regarding stem cell transplantation in patients with low EF following Ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy. Results are very promising and Prof.DR.Masud-ul-Hassan Nuri is leading this trail.

Re: Re: role of stem cells in CCF

Autologous cell transplantation, including but not limited to skeletal myoblasts or hematopoeitic stem cells, is still considered INVESTIGATIONAL/NOT MEDICALLY NECESSARY as a treatment of damaged myocardium but its results are promising, particularly helpful for those who are waiting for heart transplant,it can be helpful in the meanwhile till they get appropriate donor .And still, it has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Yeh this new advancement is indeed a great treatment for ischemic heart disease patients. It is still under trails.

role of stem cells in CCF

stem cells introduced into a heart damaged from heart attack or chronic illness could feasibly differentiate into heart muscle cells and cells that promote new vessel growth, thereby improving the heart’s ability to contract more effectively and restoring blood supply to the heart itself.
