Dr Yasir can you please the name the labs for my conveience. Cos i find hard time finding the lab which will process the lab sputum specimen. I believe they all end up sending to the main labs.

Mycobacterium TB sensitivity tests are available in all well equipped labs in major cities of Pakistan, but they do lack in smaller cities. I think, the first important thing is the awareness about proper diagnosis & treatment of TB. This is because, the most important cause of drug resistance is poor complaince.

TB drug resistance, are we ignorant or arrogant

I was amazed to know that tuberculosis drug sensitivity is only avalibale in very few labs in paksitan, i mean 3-4 labs in whole country. all teaching hopsitals do not do AFB drug sensitivity on regular basis.
Are we poor or ignorant or arrogant as a nation; regarding handling TB.
As TB is rampant in our country and i believe we need to push for more money spent on drug sensitivites for AFB.
