how to control bias and confounding in study

i am fcps trainee in pediatrics. and my topic of synopsis is non organic risk factors for malnutrition in children between 6 months to 5 years of age.my study is cross sectional , and the important variables are,
Age of child, sex, maternal education status and employed mothers, income per capita, total number of dependant family members and the number of children under 5 year age, housing, sanitation, cleanliness of hands, twin / multiple delivery, birth weight, food fads, breast feeding, delayed or inadequate weaning and vaccination status.
i need to know which will be the bias and confounding factors and how to control them.
