It is always very frustrating when it happens as in your case but instead of cursing here is what i would suggest
1. write a letter or email to the editor explaining your position, the date on which the article was sent and your disappointment in not receiving the acknowledgment
2. Best would be to ring up the editorial office
3. If still there is no response than as Mr Shujaaat Hussain says 'MITTEY PAO and resubmit it to a better journal with a more active editorial board

what to do when editors dont even acknowlege the article. i have sent two articles in two different journal since last 4 months but i dont know whether they were recieved or not.
