National Bio-Forum 2008 begins at Punjab University
The Punjab University (PU) Centre of Excellence in Molecular Biology (CEMB) organised a symposium on the Status of Biotechnology in Pakistan in connection with four-day National Bio-Forum 2008.
The forum will be launched by the chief guest, Governor Punjab Lt Gen (r) Khalid Maqbool, and the guest of honour, Higher Education Commission Chairman Prof Dr Attaur Rahman.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran will preside over the inaugural ceremony of the forum.
Over 25 academia and 23 industry exhibits will be displayed on the occasion, besides making arrangements for discussions between researchers and industrialists on modem bio-products.
As many as ten agreements are likely to be signed between the academics and the industrialists on this occasion.
The PU CEMB organises the forum after every two years. In bio-forum 2006, seven agreements were made out of which two matured and were carried out successfully.
