PakMediNet Discussion Forum : Pediatrics : FCPS or MD
ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM,
i have cpmplated my house job and want to b a pediatritian, now i have 2 options either FCPS or MD(Peds), i have cleared my exam for MD.. but still confused...
seniors plz guide me!

FCPS and MD both are post-graduate qualifications. In FCPS, there is well-defined system, time frame and it is well-known. in MD, you are totally dependent on your boss, no schedule, no time frame. MD trainees are taken as "HOME-MAIDS" and they have to do a number of odd things to please their boss.

Aoa! i wanted to know wat subjects i hav to study for clearing part1 in peads n from which books? i was told that part1 for peads means u hav2 clear medicine n allied subjects-is that really so?

Well that's true... FCPS-1 Medicine & Allied has to be passed for FCPS-II training in both Adult Medicine as well as Paeds. Medicine. The books for FCPS I medicine have already been detailed in many previous posts of this forum.
