address to the doctors----smokers.
ASSALAM-U-ALLAIKUM>![]()
hope u all will be enjoying good health...and MAY ALLAH BLESS US ALL,AMEEEN...
actually i am addressing all those who are smokers for some reason or the other,,,.dear smokers;have u ever realized that when u smoke what is the effect on the other people's life due to this thing...i know most of the poeple in this site are medical graduates and students etc,.so let me tell u one thing...i have seen many doctors who are the chain smokers...so they havent ever realized its effects on the students...have u ever realized that due to ur smoking ur sister, brothers and ur loved ones are highly effected...
let me tell u a story...and its a true story...one of my family friends in uk had their first baby after almost a lapse of 10 years..the baby's father was not a chain smoker but still a smoker...u know he lost his baby after only two months or may be less than that just because of the fact that the baby had got the asthma attack and its was that acute...that it led to the baby's death...just think for a second what would be the mother's reaction..whom she should complain...??now the father is that much dishearted that he has realized the effect of the cigarrettes on his baby...
and u know my friend's father died just due to heavy smoking....
so plzzzzzzzzzz u all must realize this thing that smoking is injurious to not only ur health but to the health of your loved ones...
DOCTORS ARE A VERY IMPORTANT PART OF OUR SOCIETY.,,SO THEY SHOULD TAKE A FIRST STEP TO STAY AWAY FROM IT..AND ADVISE OTHERS AS WELL...
IN THE END I AM SORRY IF I HAVE HURT UR FEELINGS...
reagrds,
dr kiran.

Re: address to the doctors----smokers.Thank you Dr. Kiran for bringing-up the topic of passive smoking or second-hand smoking. I am sure we all appreciate your concern and agree with you. However, I would like to point out that instead of (or in addition to) the anecdotal evidence (family friend's baby's death), you should discuss the scientific evidence in support of your argument (which is available in plenty). Anecdotes are non-scientific evidence.

Re: Re: address to the doctors----smokers.
assalam-u-aalikum!!
thanks for the appreciation...actually i have described the anecdotal evidence just because according to some thinkers its a bit close to the routine life...i think most of the people visiting this site are drs so they would definately have the knowledge of the clinical features...well i just wanted that if we try,we can improve our society.and i think smoking is not a part of the status...actually some people think that its one of the symbols of personality...so i must they are very wrong...they are loosing their impression just because of this habbit...nobody says all this infront of the smokers but they have bad feelings about them in their heart definately...INSHALLAH I HOPE WHO EVER SEES THIS POST OF MINE WILL THINK NEGATIVELY ABOUT THE HABBIT OF SMOKING...AND INSHALLAH WILL QUIT IT...
thanks for ur concern...

address to the doctors----smokers.
Well, it is very good message and it should be spread to our community, as it is also indicated on cigrate packets that it is injurious to health, so i donot know why people take it.
and second thing is if somebody used to smoke then he should smoke when he is alone, so that other donot try to follow him or get courage that if that doctor or person is smoking then why not i!
and another point it, if somebody has a habbit then he should take in limits, i mean close to 5 not more then this, as axcess of everthing is bad, so excessive smoking is very bad.
anyhow it is good message by Dr. Kiren and we should think about this problem and try to eliminate it.
best regards

Hi!
i am a new member on this site, thereby i dont really know much what goes on here.. even though this discussion topic is really interesting to discuss. i am glad that its brought up here. i kinda agree with u , as 2 what u were saying , but i kinda go against it as well. we all know that smoking in dangerous to our health b4 v even try it..i mean smokers already know that its lethal to their health as well as others.. but still they choose to smoke? well lots of different factors come into play when someone like me would make this sort of decision. lots of people do it to look/act cool....its really a misconception that these ppl have that smoking makes them look cool..however , i disagree. other ppl do it to fit in certain group/society... i mean if u have friends ho r smokers then u r more then likely 2 become one to.. no matter how hard u try to stay away.. humans are always tempted 2 try on new things..2 experiment...well i dont know abot u guys..but i am.
anyways, thats my insights on this universal issues... u r more than welcomed to challenge me..
thanks

Well said by Farah and good discussion on this issue.
Well like many other complex genetic behavioural character it is now believed that smoking is also a genetic character like hypertension but a complex one. so i think when a person live in a community or company of smokers might be his or her gene related to smoking activate and he be more prone to smoking.........
As it is fact that many habits that a person do go into his or her genetics, so this is a habit or charter which is part of our genetic now, and it require a environment, a specific environment to express these gene and many factor could contribute for these.
anyhow it is a long discussion..........
