Fatty acid composition of Abies Pindrow (West Himalayan fir).
Pak J Pharm Sci Jan ;20(1):15-1.

The leaves of Abies pindrow, collected from Murree Hills, Punjab (Pakistan) revealed the presence of eleven fatty acids including eight saturated and three unsaturated fatty acids. They ranged from C14 to C24 and were detected as methyl esters by GC-MS technique. The saturated fatty acids were present in much greater proportion than unsaturated ones. Isopalmatic acid was found to be major saturated fatty acid and the oleic acid as predominant unsaturated acid. (+)-14-Methyl palmatic acid and (+)-Isosteric acid were the next higher saturated and unsaturated fatty acids respectively.
