Retrobulbar acute optic neuritis.

An 18 years old girl presented with sudden and profound loss of vision in the right eye. On the basis of examination, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and visual evoked potential (VEP) findings, she was diagnosed as a case of acute retrobulbar optic neuritis associated with multiple sclerosis. With timely treatment, she rapidly regained vision and has maintained it till now for more than one and a half year of follow-up.
