Exciting etiology of burns.

In this study, we want to assess the changing etiology of burns with modernization of environment. The study was conducted in the Deptt. of Plastic Surgery, Mayo Hospital over a period of one year. Out of the total 119 patients, 65 were male and 54 female. A few interesting causes were noted. Household appliances were the most common cause & kitchen being the most common place of burns. Electric current causes burns because of unsafe installation and unprotected connections. LPG cylinders get burst in cars. Burn prevention can be communicated via print and electronic media.
