On evaluation of serum levels of T3, T4 and TSH, it was found that 29% of subjects were having thyroid dysfunction. Among them, 24% subjects were females and 5% were males. 22.5% subjects were hyperthyroid (17.7% females; 4.8% males) and 6.5% were hypothyroid (all females; no male). Interestingly 71% subjects were having normal serum T3, T4 and TSH levels.
