Reproductive Health in Pakistan: Evidence and Future Directions.

Reproductive Health (RH) and specifically women`s reproductive health has been elevated in the consciousness and action agenda of governments and donor agencies throughout the world in part through the International Conference on Population and Development [ICPD] in Cairo (1994) and the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing (1995) and more recently through the +5 conferences held in 1999 and 2000 respectively. The key components of reproductive health (RH) include maternal mortality and morbidity, perinatal mortality and morbidity, abortion and postabortion care, family planning, reproductive tract infections including HIV/AIDS, infertility, adolescent reproductive health, female genital mutilation, gender-based violence and cancer of the reproductive tract.
