The purpose of study was to determine the incidence of uterine fibroids in general population. To evaluate the prevalence of various symptoms and signs at presentation. Symptomatic improvement with different management regimens was also noted. Our results showed that menstrual irregularities e.g. menorrhagia, polymenorrhagia, meterorrhagia etc, abdominal swelling, pain lower abdomen and infertility were the main presenting symptoms. Of these, 20 left against medical advice, 28 patients had total abdominal hysterectomy. Myomectomy was done in 14 patients and 34 were managed conservatively. As most of the infertile patients did not return for the follow-up so success of the procedure could not be evaluated.
