Clinical practice guidelines for the Management of Infectious Meningitis.
Infect Dis J Jan ;10(2):9-12.

Meningitis, or leptomeningeal inflammation, is a potentially lifethreatening clinical syndrome that continues to occur in large numbers worldwide. The vast majority of cases are attributable to infection, although non-infectious meningitis (including neoplastic and druginduced meningitis) is wellrecognized and may need to be excluded depending on the clinical situation. In Pakistan, the spectrum of infectious meningitis includes bacterial, viral, spirochetal, mycobacterial (mostly tuberculous), and fungal (mostly cryptococcal) causes. In this article we present a set of clinical guidelines for the optimal evaluation and management of the patient with suspected meningitis.
