The Quinacrine Method of Non Surgical Sterilization - Experience in Pakistan.

A prospective, comparative study was conducted at Lady Willingdon Hospital. The aim of the study was to compare the efficacy as well as procedure related morbidity and mortality for surgical versus non-surgical methods of female sterilization. A total of 2,133 patients underwent sterilization over a period of one year. Out of these 2,108 patients opted for surgical method while 25 patients tried non-surgical method. Patients were followed over next 2 years. Both methods were equally effective but serious complications and side-effects were less for quinacrine non-surgical sterilization.
