Antibiograms of Pathogenic Organisms Isolated from Clinical Material (1995 - 1997), and Changes In Their Pattern..
J Rawal Med Coll Jan ;1(2):71-4.

In vitro susceptibility tests with thirty five different antimicrobials on 1276 isolates of different organisms, isolated between January 1995 and August 1997 showed some important findings and changes when compared with results of similar tests on a series of isolates between April 1991 and August 1993. Escherichia coli was still the most common organism isolated from urinary tract infections being more common in females than in males. The incidence of Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A) in throat infections was very low. Carbapenems, fluoroquinolones and some of the cephalosporins were found to be the most effective drugs against a wide variety of organisms isolated from different clinical infections.
