Interesting Cases of Stent Thrombosis.
J Cardiovascular Dis Jan ;10(4):118-20.

Stent thrombosis is not an uncommon occurrence in the present era of percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI). Underlying mechanisms leading to stent thrombosis, though poorly elucidated, appear to be multifaceted. Mechanical factors, delayed endothelialization, and hypersensitivity reactions have all been considered as common factors. We experienced some cases of acute stent thrombosis at our institute. We believe that rigorous precautions are needed during PCI to minimize the incidence of stent thrombosis.
