Retinal Detachment: A Beginner`s Approach.

The beginners in the specialty DETACH themselves from RETINAL DETACHMENT surgery from the outset for various reasons. The article emphasizes that retinal surgery is well within their reach, more so when simple detachment is considered. Preexisting knowledge is reorganized to produce precision and simplicity. It elaborates certain mandatory headings to be kept in mind in diagnosis and surgical management. Diagnostic problems, e.g. in relation to media and indirect ophthalmoscopy are classified as the primary deterrents, whereas persistence or recurrence of detachment is the secondary deterrent for a beginner. The recommended methodology is based on observations, collected over a period in excess of six years, of retinal surgery in the armed forces. It Is Intended that it provide encouragement for beginners, the purpose being: RETINAL SURGERY MADE EASY.
