Ann Abbasi Shaheed Hosp Karachi Med Dent Coll Jan ;5:211-4.

Operative modality and morbidity in 46 patients with obstructive jaundice was studied Modality of 15% and 3.8% were recorded for malignant and benign diseases respectively. This correlated well with the advance stage of the disease rather than the operative procedure. The complication rate was higher in the patient suffering from malignant diseases. Various other predictive risk factors are also identified. Infection and renal failure were the main causes of operative modality and morbidity
