Drug induced Pellagra.

A case of pellagra is reported in a fifty year old female who was on antituberculous drugs for past eight months for tuberculosis of lungs.

CASE REPORT: A fifty year old female was referred to dermatology clinic with an eruption on back of hands since two months. She had a his tory of episodes of diarrhoea and was on antituberculous treatment for last eight months. Dermatologic examination revealed a browny red colouration with a sharply demarcated erythematous border affecting the dorsum of hands symmetrically. Rest of the skin was normal. Laboratory investigations were within normal range. She had been treated with topical steroids with no effect. A clinical diagnosis of pellagra was made based on morphology, and treatment with nicotinamide 300 mg daily was instituted. The eruption resolved in two weeks.
