Adhesion with Glass-Ionomer.
J Pak Dent Assoc Jan ;11(3):149-54.

Adhesion between tooth structure and glass-ionomer is unique, valuable and very different from the adhesion that can be achieved with composite resin. The best way to achieve a proper ion exchange between tooth structure and the cement is to condition the cavity with 10% polyacrylic acid for 10 seconds immediately prior to placing the restoration. This should be carried out with all glass-ionomers under all circumstances except when cementing a full crown or a bridge with full or three quarter coverage. For crown and bridge cementation it is better to apply a remmeralising solution immediately following preparation so that the tubules will be fully sealed.
