Ten patients with nonunion of scaphoid were treated using cortico-cancellous bone grafts and 3.5mm cancellous screws. The fractures of scaphoid which were neglected or partially treated and had undergone nonunion were treated by open reduction and internal fixation with 3.5mm cancellous screw and bone grafted with cancellous bone. Union was achieved in eight out of ten patients and functional good results obtained in all patients in which bone united. This procedure is useful and gives excellent results except where there is avascular necrosis of the proximal pole or the fragment is too small that the screw fixation is not possible.
