Effect of Carbaryl on Glucose and Cholesterol of Goat`s Blood.

Background: A prospective study to see the effect of Carbaryl on glucose and cholesterol levels of goat`s blood. Method: Four female lactating goats of approximately the same age and weight were fed Carbaryl in the dose of 2mg/kg body weight daily for 8 weeks. The blood glucose and cholesterol levels were measured weekly. The results were compared with a control group of two goats of similar age and weight. Results: A progressive increase in blood glucose and cholesterol levels was noted over eight weeks. The blood glucose level rose from 100.35mg/dl to 199.5mg/dl. The blood cholesterol level increased from 100mg/dl to 246.5mg/dl. Conclusion: Carbaryl increases the levels of glucose and cholesterol in goat`s blood.
