Progressive Cone Dystrophy associated with Paving Stone Degeneration of Peripheral Retina.
Pak J Ophthalmol Jan ;18(4):114-5.

A 22-year-old soldier presented to the eye department with progressive and gradual reduction in central vision in both eyes for the past many months. He did however complain of mild to moderate photophobia. He was not a known diabetic or hypertensive and was not on regular medication. On examination vision in each eye was counting fingers, which improved to 6/60 with pinhole. There was no significant refractive error. Color vision was grossly abnormal. Anterior segment examination was unremarkable and intraocular pressure was within normal limits. Fundus examination showed a bull`s eye maculopathy each eye. There was also some temporal pallor of the optic discs but otherwise there was nothing significant at the posterior pole. Based on history and examination a diagnosis of progressive cone dystrophy was made. As part of routine examination with a Goldman 3 mirror, it was discovered that the patient also had bilateral pavingstone degeneration of peripheral retina in both eyes.
