Pak Paed J Jan ;42(1):55-7.

Congenital insensitivity to pain and anhidrosis (CIPA) is an uncommon disease. It is also called as hereditary sensory and autonomic neuropathy type IV. It consists of anhidrosis, impairment of pain and temperature perception leading to accidental injuries and intellectual disability. Infection of limb lesions is often complicated by chronic osteomyelitis which can cause amyloidosis. Kidneys are major organ affected by systemic amyloidosis mostly presenting as nephrotic syndrome. The occurance of CIPA with nephrotic syndrome is very rare. We present a seven years old boy with CIPA who developed nephrotic syndrome.
