No one can turn his face from the reality of increasing domestic violence with each passing day. Mayo hospital being one of the largest hospital of the province receives a large share of the patients with chest injuries. This retrospective study was carried out to share the experience with others regarding the incidence, presentation, evaluation, treatment and outcome of the patients with chest injuries. Total 60 patients with the mean age of 30 years were included. Forty-six patients had gunshot injuries where as 14 had stab wounds of the chest. Twenty-one patients had isolated chest injuries and 39 patients had other associated injuries to other parts of the body. Most of the cases were treated with simple tube thoracostomy i.e. 50.06%. Mean hospital stay was maximum 18 days in the patients who had thoracotomy and laparotomy and this was the group that had maximum mortality.
