Ann King Edward Med Uni Jan ;5(3,4):310-1.

180 patients suffering from non-prolapsing and early prolapsing haemorrhids were managed by photocoagulation. 134 out of 180 (74.5 %) were symptom free at 3 months follow-up. 22 out of 180 (12.2 %) were improved while 24 out of 180 (13.3 %) were not improved. It was concluded that this method of treatment was best suited to the nonprolapsing haemorrhoids compared to prolapsing one. 83.3 % non-prolapsing were cured compared to 69.3 % of prolapsing haemorrhoids.
