A study of 75 cases of Malignant Skin Tumors.

We reviewed 75 patients (48 males and 28 females) with malignant skin tumors with ages ranging from 8 to 92 years, which were confirmed by histopathologic examination in the period between 1998 and 1999. Basal cell carcinoma was on top of the list (36 cases), followed by squamous cell carcinoma (30 cases), malignant melanoma (5 cases), Bowen`s disease (2 cases), Basi-squamous tumor (1 case) and malignant tricholemmal (1 case). Important predisposing factors included exposure to sunlight, pre-existing Naevi and scars, chronic skin diseases, genetic syndromes and others. The distribution of tumors, local spread, involvement of lymph nodes and distant metastasis was also studied.
