Treatment of a patient with a Class II Div I malocclusion using the `Tip Edge` appliance. A case report.
Pak J Orthodont Ped and Comm Dentistry Jan ;1(2):88-90.

A chubby 13 years old girl presented with the chief complaint that her teeth `stick out too much and that she cannot close her mouth properly`. Her medical history was unremarkable. She was very aware of her appearance and her parents were extremely concerned and wished something to be done quickly to correct their child`s dental appearance. Her oral hygiene was fair with some staining of her teeth. She did not have any carious lesion. There was no history of thumb/digit sucking. There was however, lower lip trapping behind the upper incisors. The cause of the malocclusion was both hereditary and environmental. The patient`s face was symmetric. The facial photographs illustrate upper incisor show at rest as a result of prolination of the upper labial segment. The lip lies behind the upper incisors. Dentally the patient exhibits class 11 1/2 unit molar and canine relationships bilaterally. Overjet is 12 mm and overbite 70%.
