Pak J Orthodont Ped and Comm Dentistry Jan ;1(2):100-2.

Natal and neonatal teeth are there at birth or within 30 days of birth respectively. These teeth have been associated with superstitions. Etiology is unknown. They can be normal looking or with abnormal enamel and dentine. They can be part of normal primary dentition or supernumerary teeth. Generally they are present in the mandibular incisal area. Natal teeth often loose while neonatal are often firm. Teeth causing problems to the baby and mother are extracted and curettage of the remaining tissues is done.
