Sebaceous Carcinoma of Nose.

We present a case of sebaceous carcinoma of nasal tip in 65-year old female. Less than 20 cases of this rare disease involving nasal skin are so far reported in the available literature. Wide excision and covering the defect with dorsal nasal flap was done.

CASE REPORT: A 65 year old lady reported to E.N.T. OPD with an ulcer at tip of nose with complaints of repeated crusting and occasional bleeding and pain. She had history of taking treatments from various general practitioners and skin specialists in the form of antibiotics, antihistamines and steroids systematically and locally but of in vain. On clinical examination, an ulcero-exophytic lesion of 2 cm in size involving nasal tip, extending to adjacent alae and limen nasi was seen. The margins were irregular and the base covered with crusts and purulent secretion. Neck examination revealed no palpable mass. Diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma was provisionally made. Wide excision with adequate safe margin was under taken. The defect was covered with local dorsal nasal flap. Biopsy report revealed sebaceous carcinoma. The patient is on regular follow-up with no indication of disease recurrence.
