J Pak Assoc Derma Jan ;13(1):45-7.

A 20 year old man presented in the dermatology clinic with a history of hoarseness since childhood, scattered atro phic pock-like scars on face, nodular lesions on the elbows and small nodules in the axillae. The patient was born to non consangiunous parents. Rest of the family members were healthy. On examination: skin over the face was thickened and pock-like scars were seen. Yellowish waxy plaques were seen on el bows and small nodules in axillae. The mucosae of the pharynx, tongue and lips had yellow white infiltrates. The tongue was enlarged. The vocal cords appeared thickened. No abnormality was detected in other systems. Laboratory investigations: biochemical and haematological parameters were normal. Biopsy from lesions on elbows shows hyperkeratosis and irregular acanthosis with dermal thickening and deposition of PAS positive hyaline material around capillaries and sweat glands. Broad bands of hyaline material were found in dermis.
