Urethrography: A better choice than Ultrasound in cases of Urethral Strictures.
Ann King Edward Med Uni Jan ;9(2):173.

This article is published to see the role of sonourethrography as a sole investigation for urethral strictures. We collected cases from the surgical and urology out patient as well as in patient who had a suspicion of stricture urethra and evaluated them primarily on sonography. Retrograde urethrogram on conventional fluoroscopic unit was carried only after sonography to see the urethra. 25 patients were taken. Ultrasound showed three patients of having stricture of anterior urethra with no comments on the posterior urethra , after performing conventional fluoroscopic urethrogram, the patiens with strictures rose to seven, four of them posterior urethra. So we concluded that performing ultrasound for urethral evaluation of strictures is no use because of its limitations in posterior urethra.
