In children, ocularists experience tremendous amount of difficulty in quantitative adjustment centration of ophthalmic prosthesis. Ocularists generally do not have anesthesia facilities, and children, out of their instinctive fear would not let ocularist touch their operated socket. The resistance from young patients leaves much to desire in quantitative adjustment of the prosthesis. Uptil now transparent PMMA stock conformers are installed during surgery to prevent socket from contraction in coming weeks. These conformers are left in situ for 4-6 weeks depending upon the healing time. After healing of the wound, these patients are attended by an ocularist to take out the conformer and replace it with an artificial eye. In most of the cases it requires repeated attempts to find out the correct centration of ocular prosthesis. These patients normally suffer from post operative fear, this forced non-cooperation defeats the efforts of ocularists to exercise the quantitative adjustment of eye prosthesis.
